Glen Boatwright will be conducting an "Incident Command System and Emergency Response Orientation Session" for participants of the Texas Gas Association's Conference in San Antonio on October 1-2, 2009. The program will address working within the Incident Command System, coordinating response to incidents with local public sector responders, and dealing with the news media on the scene as a first responder.
Glen Boatwright will be conducting a series of session related to emergency management at the Oklahoma Gas Association Conference in Tulsa on September 30. He will be discussing "Pipeline Emergency Management", "Crisis Communications-Dealing with the News Media" and "Conducting Mock Emergency Exercises".
Vice President of Nixon & Associates, Glen Boatwright will be speaking at the Western Regional Gas Conference on August 26. Glen's session on "Emergency Response-Elements of a Comprehensive Approach to Emergency Management" is part of an emergency management track which is a new addition to the conference for 2009.
On August 7, 2009, Neil Nixon will again make a presentation at the Midwest Energy Association's annual Electric/Gas Operational Conference held at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Neil's topic will be "Interfacing with News Media at the Scene of Operating Incidents" and will include lecture and video case studies. This year's appearance marks the third time Nixon & Associates has made a presentation at the conference, which is now in its 86th year.
Nixon & Associates recently helped the new Southeast Supply Header (SESH) Pipeline project by developing a crisis response plan and various protocols. SESH is a joint venture between Spectra Energy and CenterPoint Energy, both of whom are long-time clients of Nixon & Associates.
Cheniere Energy recently turned to Nixon & Associates for assistance with a variety of training and testing initiatives on their emergency response plans. Since 2009 began, Nixon & Associates has conducted three tabletop exercises with Cheniere staff and management, and is planning a large Mock Emergency Exercise in the Fall of 2009. We have also conducted training on emergency response and media relations for Houston-based Cheniere Energy.
Neil Nixon, President and Founder of Nixon & Associates recently spoke to the Emergency Response and Planning Committee for the Northeast Gas Association in Uncasville, CT. The presentation centered on conducting effective mock emergency exercises and included tips for planning, facilitating and evaluating detailed drills, including the benefits of videotaping key components of the exercise.
